There are a few goals when it comes to social media optimization, such as increase traffic, gain maximum exposure, and draw in an audience. Lucky for us, this strategy goes hand-in-hand with search engine optimization, and can help achieve the ultimate online strategy. However, it can become rather difficult as to which SMO strategy to implement. So, here are a few tips on where to begin with social media optimization.

A social media optimization strategy should start with listening. Many people may dive right into producing content, but pump those brakes and take some time to learn how to monitor your social media activity. Monitoring is important because it can allow you to see what individuals are saying about your company, especially if you need to make any changes to improve your reputation. Also, prior to your SMO strategy you should keep in mind things like, what social channels to use, picking effective keywords, and finding influential topics.

Developing top-notch content can be a challenge and it can define who you are. As a reader and potential client they should be able to get to know you from the content on your page. It very well may be a deciding factor whether a potential customer picks up the phone. We must realize content can be extremely powerful and draw your target audience in, so creating it to be optimized is crucial before you even begin to promote. It’s no longer effective to just produce and publish your content. As customers, we want to find exactly what we’re looking for as fast as possible.

After you have enhanced your monitoring skills, picked the most logical social platforms, and created attention-grabbing content, it is now time to connect with your readers. Make sure your marketing efforts are worthwhile, do your homework, and get to know your customers. Also, don’t forget to grow your network by sparking conversation, following, liking and sharing to get your name out there. By just accepting your current crowd you would be doing a disservice to yourself for all the time and effort you already put forth. When expanding your network you want to develop and promote in unison. By expanding your blogs on various social channels you can spread your content to more people, allowing for recognition and maximum exposure all over the web.

With these tools available you can create an effective social media optimization strategy by listening, creating solid content, and promoting. It has become an essential platform for businesses to have a web presence on and by following a basic framework it can make even a modest social media optimization strategy a lot more productive.

Simply put, ideal SEO (search engine optimization) copywriting is when a copywriter can combine SEO keywords with good writing that grabs the interest of both the search engines and the reader. Inevitably, SEO copywriting plays a key role in getting more traffic to your website.

Although SEO keywords aren’t always in a website’s content (because many business owners do not understand SEO) you should know that it will definitely help your website’s rankings if some keywords are incorporated into its content. SEO copywriting is almost like an art form within itself. Ever try to hire a real SEO copywriter, see how much he or she charges then you will understand how important it is to put keywords into your website’s content.

Ultimately, the best way to improve your website’s search engine rankings (in regards to the search engines) is to produce great content that the search engines will like, but you must not forget about the reader! If a reader does not like your content, chances are that you will not get any links back to your site (he or she views you as untrustworthy.) So, not only is incorporating keywords into your content important, but you must be able to produce something enticing that a reader will like!

Want to produce great content that the search engines and your readers will like?

Following are 2 important tips to follow in order to be better at SEO copywriting:

1. Just Write Well!

Ever hear the phrase, “Content is King?” Google and every other search engine love useful and well-written content. Also, if a visitor to your website finds the content useful, he or she will most likely link to it and tell his or her friends about it. When Google finds those links (from the user) your page rankings will rise even higher!

2. Keyword Density

When it comes to those pesky keywords you are targeting, some should appear at the beginning of the paragraph, and also somewhere near the end. If this isn’t possible, and the writing may not make sense, try to incorporate at least one into your content. One will always be better than none! Also, please note that overstuffing your content with keywords will make you appear “spammy,” so don’t overdo it, more may not always mean better rankings!

Those of you familiar with the movie Terminator are well aware of what Skynet is. It is an artificial intelligence system that becomes self-aware and decides to end all humanity, its creator! You have probably seen this concept in iRobot as well. Except these themes tend to drive humans together for survival. It seems movie writers are dead set on computer networks ending the world, but could this actually be true? Maybe not, instead we have social networking disrupting the way we socialize.

How can social networking be a threat to society? For starters, society is losing the ability to be able to form healthy relationships. The hours that were spent in person socializing has declined, while social media increased. Businesses and families alone are being affected. However, technology is a great tool, so I am not sold it should replace face-to-face interaction. It should be used to maintain the previous relationship you have offline and used as a way to re-connect. With social networking still relatively new, (Facebook being launched in 2004) human interactions are still evolving. With that being said, there are still a majority of users who support both sides of this argument.

Social networks being public leave every user vulnerable to security risks such as identity theft. Everything a criminal is looking for can be provided from birthdays, to maiden names, how many children you have, etc. This also leaves opportunity for non-cyber crimes to be committed. If you know someone is out of town, you are well aware no one is at their home. Many other areas can be affected such as corporate invasion, where they sell your personal information. For example, if you have noticed ads targeted towards recent content that you have posted, this is why. Another huge factor social networking can be disruptive and dangerous is because there is no way to verify that people are who they claim to be.

After bashing social networking, there are many advantages that can enhance society. For starters, 59% of students (that are users of social networking) use it to discuss topics such as careers, college planning, and other productive matters. Recent studies are linking social networks to improvements in reading and writing skills, and give students the ability to interact with students worldwide. Also, with lower-income families, children have the ability to gain experience with current technology and computers. By being a user on these networks, they learn simple tasks like uploading photos and even HTML code to personalize their pages. This allows children not to be left behind in technology, which could be a great advantage to them in the future.

Social media has become a powerful tool not only for social interaction, but businesses and general interests as well. Companies have been able to get real time results and reviews, which could allow them to make any changes necessary, at a faster rate. This in return would allow for greater success and create brand awareness. For society it could be a great asset to those who are dealing with any life altering diseases such as alcoholism, drug addiction, weight loss, etc. These social platforms bring everyone together for support and a good cause, allowing them to be introduced to others dealing with the same hardships.

Social networking has brought the world together, increased communication, and has enhanced many businesses success, which are all positive affects. You would think social networking would have decreased face-to-face communication, but for those who have difficulty communicating, this is a great alternative for them—giving them the ability to be able to interact and stay in touch on a digital level!

Like everything in life, moderation and control is important. Of course with social networking there is going to be some benefits and disadvantages, but ultimately, its how digitally interactive you want to be. Social networking momentarily is here to stay, so why not embrace its advantages!

Of course you want your website to be functional and informative, but you also can’t forget to think about how it looks. Most of the time, a basic website with a shopping cart where a company can sell their items is not appealing to you, so why would it be appealing to your clients? When someone visits your website, it should instantly gain his or her attention and encourage the person to stay. So, how can this be achieved? Well, with an amazing array of well-designed graphics of course.

The first two things you must always consider when it comes designing your website is your target audience and market. Last but not least, you should also shop around for a good website design firm that has great designers.

A good graphic designer or web designer should be skilled in creating detailed and eye-catching graphics, shapes, and colors perfectly balanced to appeal to the eye. The designer should also be able to draw a focus to the important portions of your website. An experienced web designer would know how to code and construct a fully functional and dynamic site, and he or she would also make sure that the graphics are precisely positioned as they code it out.

When you choose a design firm, the designer must be given a basic look and style for your website. The kind of pictures you want, colors, fonts, and if you want any animations should be noted right away. Inevitably, you are using a designer to take your colors, imagery, maybe even a few sketches, and turn it into something you and your target audience will like. However, remember that their opinions may differ from yours and your visitors. Don’t forget that a designer is the expert in his or her field, and that they are not in yours. So, give them some examples of what you want to see!

Therefore, what can you take away from this when it comes to designing your website? Think of your target audience and visitors, and don’t forget to provide the designer with some example pages to go off of!

It is no longer a question whether a business is on social media or not, but whether they are utilizing it correctly. Companies that are small or big are realizing the importance of having a social media strategy and marketing plan. Some may not even know that they are doing social media optimization. For example, things such as RSS feeds from blogs, a Facebook “like” button, etc. are methods of using SMO. Also, don’t forget to use blog tags and meta descriptions to make your content more visible.

Put yourself in the readers shoes, most would not be willing to go out of their way to share content. So, in having said that, make sure you have sharing buttons for every social media vehicle that are easily accessible. Simplicity is important, make it intuitive for people to share and spread your content socially, and on every platform.

Never underestimate the power of the Internet. We have been given the opportunity to share our content on social sites and you never know when sharing sites could pick up regionally or go global. You may be struggling to get recognition but over night become an Internet sensation, overwhelmed with responses! So, don’t forget the power of social sharing sites!

Before you get envious of popular brands and their ability to share content across multiple media vehicles, take a moment to look at how they became successful. Take a dip in the unknown waters and learn the new rules of online marketing and public relations. This will allow you to get involved with the client and engage in conversation thus enabling you to measure the success of social media activities.

Social media optimization is not just some buzz in the news; it is an opportunity to create new referral traffic, sales, and partnerships. So what are you waiting for, do your research and utilize these social platforms to the fullest extent!

Come to think of it, Generation X and the Baby Boomers have lived before and through the first developments of the Internet. So, how do those people stay in contact with old classmates? Well, SchoolFeed offers just that—a network that was built for people who graduated high school before the breakthrough of the Internet.

The social network site has caused quite a stir growing at a rate of 100,000 new users per day and more than 7 million to date. The site is extremely user friendly; all you have to do is enter the name of your school and the graduating year. Then you can sign in via Facebook. When that is all finished SchoolFeed automatically loads your fellow classmates who are already members. No name searching and struggling to find those classmates from years back, they are already generated for you. If they’re not a member already you can simply invite them to join (the ones you know, obviously.)

From there on it’s a trip down memory lane for those who didn’t have social networks growing up. Instead, they were playing the video game system Atari and listening to 8 tracks. As a result of the lack of technology back then it made it harder to find their fellow classmates they grew up with. You may think, why not just use Facebook? Good question, Facebook has now moved way beyond its original intention of helping classmates get together. Now it has spread to a vast demographic group, starting with schools to connecting the whole world. In fact, only about 8% of Facebook users have more than half of their high school classmates as friends.

SchoolFeed is based on the same revenue plan as Facebook, through ads and virtual currency. Another feature they offer is to gain currency by contributing things like photos or scanning in a yearbook. This allows for you to unlock rewards for instance to view pages from a yearbook someone else has scanned. So, it is almost motivation to become highly active in SchoolFeed, making it a win. With your contribution, the site is able to grow. One neat feature that even attracted me was the ability to handle class reunion services. This can allow for more than simply connecting through the Internet.

Whether you may fall into this category (or your parents do) you think you would consider SchoolFeed to get back in touch with anyone? Since Facebook has been highly embraced by society already, it is no surprise that SchoolFeed has gained popularity. The typical user of SchoolFeed may be “old school” but the 7-million+ members seem to be doing just fine connecting via web.

Check out this blog, comment here, retweet this, repin this, follow me, like this, share this—you can probably pair which of these actions goes with what social media network.

Now, let me catch up on the all the demands the social world asks of us. From celebrities to fashion designers, to technology and news reporters, there is going to be something out there you’re interested in.

Having a blog is a great way to help boost your rankings, create awareness, or just simply to help your business. It also can be very easy to get lost in all the social networking chaos. Having a blog with no value or quality is not going to do much for you. However, if you have the time to really dive deep into creating great content it could be a tremendous asset to your business.

Blogging can be overwhelming with so many technological advances of widgets and sharing, so it is important to stay true to yourself and what you are posting. Getting caught up in all the hype can deter you from creating quality content. So, here are some tips to keep your blog grounded:

1. Be sure to have an objective. Just like when you start any project, you need to be able to answer the Who, What, and Why. Starting off with goals and objectives in your mind allows for boundaries to be set and achieved, whether it is for increasing rankings or just creating brand awareness. It is important to start off on the right foot.

2. What is it that you are offering to your readers? Determine your strengths and weaknesses, and also be sure to understand what content will be enjoyed by your viewers. I always like to think to myself: If I saw this, would I even want to be reading it? If you have to think twice then I would say you have your answer.

3. Is there something you know that others don’t? Today, a majority of bloggers write about Twitter, Google +, etc. How does this set you apart from anyone else writing about those topics. I find the most interesting ones are the ones you have not heard of yet, besides the standard social networking buzz.

4. Lastly, interact with your readers. If they leave comments, make sure to respond back, know that you are interested in what they are saying, and this will create loyal readers who respect your work.

So, at the end of the day, ask yourself: What is my blog doing for my readers, for me? Is it providing value, and if it is working, what tips can you suggest to others?

It is ultimately very important to be known as a respected blogger who also values the thoughts and comments of readers.

On Wednesday February 1st 2012, Top SEOS, the Independent Authority on Search Vendors, released their February 2012 report on the Best Integrated Search (SEO & PPC) companies awarding 1SEO.com (partner site of Internet Marketing Firm) with the very coveted #1 spot. Ranking #1 amidst the top 30 SEO companies in the country, Lance Bachmann, founder and President of 1SEO.com, considers it to be a spectacular achievement.

Based in Levittown, PA, and founded back in 2009 by presenting local and national companies with provisions into online marketing by using Google, Bing, and Yahoo; 1SEO.com is a company that is actively involved in providing services such as search engine optimization (SEO), pay per click management (PPC), web design, web development, and social media optimization. In regards to their search engine optimization, 1SEO.com uniquely tailors each client’s campaign to meet the needs of the client’s goals. Since the company’s start they have realized that no one SEO strategy can generate success for every SEO campaign that is thrown their way—customization of the client’s campaign always reaps the most success and the highest ROI for each client.

Along with providing effective custom SEO services, PPC, and many others, 1SEO.com also makes the use of skilled and trained professionals who can manage a significant amount of operations in a timely and effective manner. In other words, they are the best at what they do. As Bachmann said it on the video played at the 2012 Philadelphia SmartCEO Future 50 Awards Gala held on January 13, 2012 in Drexel Hill, PA, “I believe that bringing in the talent first is important for the growth of any business.” Bachmann’s 1SEO.com was a winner in SmartCEO’s “Emerging Growth Category.” The SmartCEO Future 50 Awards Gala celebrates the Philadelphia area’s 50 fastest growing companies based on employee and revenue growth over the past three years.

Apart from winning the SmartCEO and TopSEOs awards in January and February, 1SEO.com still manages to steadily maintain their client retention rate of 90%! One can probably say that bigger things are still sure to come for 1SEO.com!

A good content management system (CMS) lets you update the key elements (content) that makes up each and every page of your website. A CMS also provides its user with a straightforward and organized system to help manage all kinds of content and ultimately control the appearance of his or her website.

2.Easy and Flexible

Social Networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn each allow their users to easily form communities with groups of friends as well as co-workers and acquaintances. Because of these communities, social networking sites have become a gold mine for businesses that desire to post messages to their social media networking sites for effective social media optimization (SMO.)

However, while many social networking sites have proved to be lucrative for some businesses, there are some that abuse the point of being involved in SMO. In fact, many social networking sites have become abused to the point of where those sites have had to crack down on new types of spam. For example, much of the “spamming” is a result of people who falsely add friends to their account by “mass-adding” them.

It is not to say that social networking “spamming” does not work, but most of the time there is very little response from those friends that the business “mass-added” because those users have no interest in the business.

Therefore, if you desire effective ways of using social networking sites for Internet marketing and SMO, following some of these tips may help instead of resorting to spamming:

1. Create a targeted friend’s list.

2. Attempt to welcome new members (personally) when they add you to their network.

3. Post content that has value like articles, news, or exclusive information in your posts rather than posting links to your website.

4. Contact your followers frequently to keep them interested, but do not spam them.

Abusing social networking sites will only reap negative results. However, if you follow some of these tips you may just be able to achieve success with your social media campaign!
